A small to medium size business owner will often go into business, without really understanding how to market and grow themselves from a digital perspective. A Salon owner opens a business because they are licensed to cut and style hair and want to do it in their own environment. A Chiropractor opens his own practice and manages it. Often times, these small business owners open up because they are good at what they do.
However, in today's marketplace, it's not as simple as renting a place, setting it up, opening the doors and the people will come. Even in these two scenarios above, where there is no online need to run their business, there is now an online need to have and build a digital footprint. About two decades ago, it was good enough to simply start up a web page so people could search and find you. However, now every business has a web page, and there are literally hundreds to thousands of web results when someone does a search. How does a business stand out from that? And more importantly, how can they stand out with little time investment and little to no costs?
This course will cover the aspects of the Digital Footprint for a small to medium size business (this works for a large business too, although they typically have the resources to hire out for their marketing and building of their digital footprint.)
Audience:
Small to Medium Businesses
Topic:
Managing a Digital Footprint
Lessons:
What is Digital Footprint and Why Does it Matter?
How to Uncover my Digital Footprint.
How to Improve my Digital Footprint.
Subject Matter Expert:
I am going to be the subject matter expert, as well as the developer of the course. I owned and operated my own online business for nine years. During that time, I learned about a Digital Footprint, and how I need to make sure I'm utilizing my digital presence to grow my business. I was also the Advertising Sales manager for a large market newspaper for several years, and in that time, we specialized in helping businesses to understand and manage their digital footprint.
