Learning Models - Week 4 - UbD

This week in the Learning Models course, we were tasked using the Understanding by Design Learning model. I used it with my Signature Assignment topic - as I am finding by using the same topic as it applies to each of these models, I can hopefully gain a better understanding a the key differences in the models and how they are used to structure the learning plan. Learning Models - Week 3

Wow, we are off and running and already coming to a close of week 3. This week, we explored the 9 stages of the Dick and Carey Model . As part of this exploration, we were asked to create a podcast of the Dick and Carey Model and incorporate the model into a learning plan to provide some context to the stages. Hope you enjoy this installation. References: The Training Industry (2019, March 13). The Dick and Carey Model . Learning Models - Signature Assignment Topic

C. Costello. (2015). Digital Footprint [Image]. A small to medium size business owner will often go into business, without really understanding how to market and grow themselves from a digital perspective. A Salon owner opens a business because they are licensed to cut and style hair and want to do it in their own environment. A Chiropractor opens his own practice and manages it. Often times, these small business owners open up because they are good at what they do. However, in today's marketplace, it's not as simple as renting a place, setting it up, opening the doors and the people will come. Even in these two scenarios above, where there is no online need to run their business, there is now an online need to have and build a digital footprint. About two decades ago, it was good enough to simply start up a web page so people could search and find you. However, now every business has a web page, and there are literally hundreds to thousands of web results when someone d...

Learning Models - Week 2

Thanks for returning to the second week as I go through the course on Learning Models. In this weeks course, we were asked to read about the Addie Model and develop our own personal mind map based on the model. While building my mind map, I felt there were a few items that were placed in the development phase of the model that I felt should belong to the Design phase. Especially if you are working with a team of eLearning developers that are all working on the same project. This way, all designs and standards can be determined prior. This will allow for more consistent materials among the developed modules. Below is the Mind Map I developed using Canva and Powerpoint: To view a full size, please click the link below: Michelle's Addie Model Mind Map

Learning Models - Week 1

In the Learning Models course through edx.org, we were asked to create a multimedia piece to introduce ourselves to the rest of the learners. In the piece, we were asked to include three items: 1. Introduction of ourselves 2. Review of History of Learning based on the readings for the week 3. Our personal learning philosophy I used Vyond.com to create my multimedia piece and posted to Vimeo. Thanks for joining me on this journey.
